Adam and I spent Easter weekend in Holland. Here we are early Easter morning at beach in Den Haag. That's the North Sea behind us. The morning was a bit chilly at the beach, so we didn't stay long. Continue on for pictures of our day at the Keukenhof.

The sea, the sea...the North Sea!

Welcome to the Keukenhof! According to the park's website, the Keukenhof is the most photographed place on earth. The park is open only 8 weeks in the spring every year. Last fall, over seven million flower bulbs were planted by hand. You can see just a few here. This is an incredible place to visit! We really enjoyed our day here.

Here's Adam getting back to his roots and the trying the old wooden shoes on for size.

You can wander through the flowers outside or inside. The tulips in this building were amazing!

Those are all tulips around me. Can you believe the sizes?!

I had to sneak a peak at the mechanics on this big arrangement. I got a few pointers just by being nosy :)

We could smell the hyacinths from the parking lot. The whole park smelled great!

This windmill in the Keukenhof dates back to the 1830s.

Instead of corn & beans in the fields, they're full of bulbs! Corn fields are a comforting sight of home, but this is much prettier.

This shoemaker gave a demonstration on how wooden shoes are made.

In the souvenier shop you can choose from a large selection of wooden shoes. I prefer my sneakers.

Adam snacked on a herring sandwich. Yuck! It was cold & slimy, but very popular.

The bloom on this tulip was about the size of my hand.

So, who wants to go again? I do!

My sister and a few of her friends came to visit in March. We took a short trip to Venice. It was a nice place to visit.

Venice is definitely a neat city. This is a picture from our gondola tour.

These fine Italian gentlemen provided musical entertainment during our gondola cruise.

Here's Jessica cruising the canals. The yellow and white builing behind her is a water bus stop.

This is the grand canal with the Rialto Bridge in the background.

These are the streets! This was part of our gondola cruise through the side canals. I love it!

Alissa and Crystal fed the pigeons in San Marco Square. Those birds are not shy!

Basilica of St. Mark

Gondola, gondola, gondola...we heard that chant several times from gondoliers looking for cusomters.

Ciao!
